What do we mean by Mentorship? Mentorship is a relationship, of one to one nature, between more experienced and a less experienced individual for the purpose of personal and professional development. Mentorship occurs when a senior person (the mentor) in terms of age and experience undertakes to provide information, advice, and emotional support for a junior person (the protégé) in a relationship lasting over an extended period of time and marked by substantial emotional commitment by both the parties. What are our Objectives? Through our Mentorship Programme we are trying to create a support system for our students in higher education by building their linkages with suceesful professionals, faculty members and senior students so that they are able to get proper career counseling, orientation, to devise strategies to cope up with the campus environment together with striving towards acheiveing excellence in their studies. As a Dalit and Adivasi students' platform, we are committed towards bringing more and more professionals, faculty members, senior students, researchers and activists from Dalit and Adivasi background in our network as OUR MENTORS and ROLE MODELS.
